Choose the handoff that matters
Test the outcome your next person needs.
An agency client, a maintainer and an internal reviewer need different views of the work. Start with the boundary and outcome that would make GitNative useful for your workflow.
Agencies: test the client boundary
GitNative has a client portal for approved customer contacts to submit and follow bugs or support requests. Internal engineering work remains subject to workspace permissions. A client contact and an internal workspace member are different access relationships.
- Use a synthetic client report and a separate internal reviewer. Follow the report into owned engineering work, then inspect what the client account and the internal account can each see.
- Write down what can be shared in the handover: the request, agreed scope, delivery evidence and a public-safe response. Test the recipient’s actual account before sharing a record link.
- Evaluate one workspace per client if that matches your intended boundary. Check membership and repository scope in each workspace when switching; a navigation menu does not establish isolation.
- Formal client signatures, approval receipts, time tracking, margin reporting and full project accounting are not established by the delivery example. Validate those requirements before an agency-wide move.
Solo developers: keep the first workflow small
Start with one launch decision and one bug or task. Give the ticket an owner, add its original source and record what makes it ready for review.
- Keep existing GitHub Issues or notes authoritative during the pilot. A source URL does not establish historical conversation import.
- You can defer GitHub App installation and invitations. The setup guide lists the workspace details requested even for a solo project.
- Meetings, roadmaps and agents do not need to be the first task. If a simple issue list already solves your problem, evaluate whether another workspace adds enough value.
Maintainers and platform teams: test the receiving person
Choose a contributor/reviewer pair or two members with different access. A useful handoff makes the reason, implementation and remaining responsibility inspectable.
- Maintainers: link one contribution to its decision, inspect the pull request and record remaining QA. Test contributor permissions separately from public repository access.
- Platform teams: check a restricted project and repository-derived record with both accounts. For agents, inspect credential ownership, selected workspace, source freshness and confirmation requirements.
- A pair cannot establish the whole organisation’s permission model. Agree a wider access test before importing sensitive engineering context.
